About Loel Coleman
Experience
Since the mid 1990’s I have been in real estate and property management as well as learning the ins and outs of the international adoption process. I have negotiated numerous purchase, sales and lease contracts – including Oil, Gas and Mineral Leases –more often than not getting terms superior to other similar deals. I created a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to giving more opportunities to women in Guatemala. I have also been involved in the purchase and import of the crafts of these women for sale on the internet and at festivals.

1990’s -Staff manager-trainer/ community organizer/ campaign director for environmental NGO Clean Water Action Project, Information Office Director for the environmental/ human rights NGO Rainforest Action Network, served as International Peace Observer in Mexico for the human rights NGO Global Exchange. I did extensive independent travel throughout Mexico, Central and South America, participating in numerous human rights and environmental protection efforts in those places and in the U.S.
Late 1990’s - early 2000’s - Personal representative managing estate properties with $1M+ assets involving numerous contract negotiations, real estate transactions, oil/gas/mineral leases, and other significant matters.
During all decades until present - multi-role player, freelance legal advisor for numerous persons and entities including a company that owns at times up to 24 McDonald’s outlets and an individual who invested in Austin real estate in the 1960’s and 70’s who is beginning to reap the rewards of those investments now.
Further details provided upon request.
I have also created a 501c3 non-profit – Somos Iguales – dedicated to educating less privileged girls and women in the world to afford them more learning and earning opportunities. Through my work with Somos Iguales I have gained first hand knowledge of the desperate plight of people of many parts of the world, especially in Guatemala. High infant mortality rates, abject poverty, malnutrition and widespread illiteracy are some of the factors that led me into becoming involved in handling inter-country adoptions from Guatemala.
